What social justice means to me is assuring the protection of equal access to liberties, rights and opportunities. I think social justice is a personal responsibility,us as society decide whether something is just or unjust depends on whether it advocates or prevents equality of access to human rights. We still struggle until this day to achieve social justice I believe its because of european settlers that forced aboriginal people to accept european culture and values. Aboriginal people had long proud history that had rich, cultural, spiritual traditions but they were changed and even taken away. That caused aboriginal destruction which are the natives, africans, mexicans. We can see the effects of this today that includes poverty, poor, health, educational failure, family, violence, and other problems. It is a loss of identity and a learned useless culture from having their values changed and rights ignored. I believe social justice is still struggling to improve, re- discovering their traditional values after years of oppression. I think some good ways to re-discover our values and improve social justice is by
supporting families in necessary needs, keeping young people on track, showing the importance of work, supporting the most disadvantaged adults, teach more about social justice in schools. I have experienced how schools in white communities have really expensive equipment when it comes to sports and educational materials they are superior than schools in Hispanic, African, and Native communities. Social Justice high school has always been about preparing us for the outside world and has taught us to fight for what is fair for our human rights and where ever we go we will bring this with us.
